How to find domain and range of a function?

Open in App
Solution

Define the domain and range of a function:

The domain of a function is defined as the set of all possible values at which the function is defined.

The range of a function is defined as the set of all outputs of a function at domain values.

Example:- If a function is f(x)=x2,xR (Set of real numbers), then domain and range is?

Domain of f(x)=R

Range of f(x)=R+or[0,),y|y0

Hence, in this way, we can find the domain and range of a function.
