Question

How to find the volume of cubes and cuboids?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Determine the volume of a cube

A cuboid having all the dimension to be equal length is known as cube. Consider the dimension of a cube be "a" then the volume of a cube is given as

VolumeofCube=a×a×a=a3

Step 2: Determine the volume of a cuboid

A cuboid having all the dimension to be of different length is known as cuboid. Consider the dimension of a cuboid be "a" the length, "b" the breadth and "h" the height then volume of a cuboid is given as

VolumeofCuboid=a×b×h=a·b·h

Hence, the volume of a cube is a3 and the volume of a cuboid is a·b·h.
