Solution

Pure water:-

  • Pure water is a tasteless and colourless liquid.
  • If a colourless liquid boils at 100°C(373K)and freezes at 0°C(273K) both at 1 atmospheric pressure, we can say that the given liquid is pure water.
  • This is because, pure water has a boiling point of 100°C(373K)and a freezing point of 0°C(273K).

Therefore, if a colourless liquid boils has a boiling and melting point of 100°C(373K)and 0°C(273K) at 1atm respectively, then we can say that the liquid given to you is pure water.
