Solution

Step 1: Assume variable and calculate shares

Let, Huma's share =x

Then, Seema's share =12 of Huma's share

=12ofx

=12×x [using BODMAS]

=12x

And, Hubna's share =123 of Seema's share

=123of12x

=1×3+23of12x abc=a×c+bc

=53of12x

=53×12x [using BODMAS]

=5×13×2x

=56x

Step 2: Form an equation and simplify it for x

According to the question, the total monthly allowance received is 2,016.

i.e., Huma's share + Seema's share + Hubna's share =2,016

x+12x+56x=2016

6x+3x+5x6=2016

14x6=2016

x=2016×614

x=144×61

x=864

Step 3: Find each person's share

So, Huma's share =x

=864

And, Seema's share =12x

=12×864

=432

Also, Hubna's share =56x

=56×864

=51×144

=720

Hence, the shares of the three sisters Huma, Seema and Hubna are 864,432 and 720 respectively.
