Solve the given equations to find the required value

Let us consider the equations

15x+17y=21 ...(i)

17x+15y=11 ...(ii)

Subtracting equation (i) from equation ii we get

2x-2y=-10 ...(iii)

Dividing equation (iii) by 2 we get

x-y=-5

Therefore, the value of x-y is -5.
