Question

If both A and B are rational number, find the value of A and B of the equality 5+37-43=47A+B3

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Solve the L.H.S

L.H.S=5+37-43

Now, by rationalizing the L.H.S we have

L.H.S=(5+3)7+43(7-43)(7+43)=35+203+73+1272-432a+b(a-b)=a2-b2=47+27349-48=47+2731=47+273L.H.S=47+273

Step 2: Compare the L.H.S with R.H.S

R.H.S=47A+B3

Equate L.H.S and R.H.S we have

47+273=47A+B3

Now, by comparing both the sides, we get,

A=1 and B=27

Hence, the value of A is 1 and the value of B is 27.
