New radius R1 = 150% of R = 150100R

Step 2. Formula used:

We know g=GMR2…………1

Step 3. Calculations:

Let g' be the new acceleration due to gravity. Then putting new values in 1, we get

g' = G75100M150100R2=GMR275100×10000150×150=g515=0.33g

Hence the acceleration due to gravity decreases by = g-g'

=g-0.33g=0.67g

In terms of percentage, we can write
