If a and b are said to vary inversely with each other, then on increasing one quantity will leads to decrease in other quantity.

And the product of both the numbers remains same.

i.e.ab=constant=kora=kb

Hence, If on increasing a, b decreases in such a manner that ab remains same and positive, then a and b are said to vary inversely with each other.
