Question

If sinA=35, find all other trigonometric ratios of angle A (using trigonometric identities).

Open in App
Solution

Compute all the trigonometric ratios:

Given: sinA=35 and A is an acute angle.

Let's plot the figure.

So, in ABC we have B=90°.

And,

AC=5 and BC=3

By Pythagoras theorem,

AB=AC2-BC2=52-32=25-9=16=4

Now, we know that,

cosA=ABAC=45tanA=BCAB=34cotA=1tanA=43secA=1cosA=54cosecA=1sinA=53

Hence, the required values are obtained.
