Let us construct the triangle.

Given: A=100°

AD bisects A.

BAD=1002

=50°

Step 2: Calculate B

We know that the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180°.

Therefore, for ABD,

ABD+BAD+ADB=180°

ABD+50+90=180 [Given that ADBC, ADB=90°]

ABD+140=180

ABD=180-140

ABD=40°

Hence, B is equal to 40° and so option (C) is the correct answer.
