  2. It is mainly determined by the frequency but is not the same as frequency.
  3. The subjective unit of pitch is mel(derived from melody) defined as one-thousandth of the pitch of a pure 1kHz tone at an acoustic pressure of 60dB.
  4. When the frequency doubles from 1 to 2kHz, the pitch is not doubled; it increases from 1000mel to 1500mel.
  5. Therefore, the lower the frequency of vibration, the lower the pitch.
