Cell:

  1. The cell is considered the structural and functional unit of life.
  2. In 1665, Robert Hooke discovered the cell.
  3. Under a compound microscope, Robert Hooke examined a piece of bottle cork and found minute formations that reminded him of miniature rooms.
  4. As a result, he dubbed these "rooms" "cells."
  5. Anton Von Leeuwenhoek was the first person to see and describe a living cell.
  6. There are two different sorts of cells:
    1. Prokaryotic cell: There is no nucleus in prokaryotic cells.
    2. Rather, some prokaryotes, such as bacteria, have an area within the cell where the genetic material is free to move around.
    3. Eukaryotic cell: Cells with a membrane-bound nucleus and organelles are referred to be eukaryotic cells.
