There are mainly five types of magnetism:

  4. Other types are ferrimagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic materials.

Estimate the Magnetic Field

  1. When a magnet is brought closer to steel, it has no effect on the steel box.
  2. Steel is not a ferromagnetic material.
  3. Therefore, the magnetic field intensity will simply pass through the steel box without showing any effect.
  4. Hence, the intensity of the magnetic field due to earth at a point inside a hollow steel box is zero.
