Hypermetropia is a type of defect in the eyes where the incident light upon passing through the eye lens gets focused behind the retina, instead of on the retina.
Hence, a distinct image cannot be formed.
Therefore, the person is not able to see objects nearer to him/her clearly.
Causes of Hypermetropia
Hypermetropia occurs when the focal length of the lens of the eyes gets elongated.
It can also occur when the size of the eyeball reduces, so that light rays from the nearby object, cannot be brought to focus on the retina.
