Open in App
Solution

Dimensional Formula

  1. The dimensional formula is the method of expressing a quantity in terms of fundamental units.
  2. Fundamental units are standard units that cannot be derived from any other relation.
  3. There are seven fundamental units:

3.1 Mass - kg

3.2 Length - m

3.3 Time - s

3.4 Current - A

3.5 Temperature - K

3.6 Amount of Substance - mol

3.7 Luminous Intensity - cd

Dimensional Formula of Time Period

  1. We know that a time period is defined as the time taken by the body to complete one full oscillation.
  2. Therefore, the time period can have the dimensions of time itself, i.e., T1.
  3. Hence, the dimensional formula of time period is M0L0T1.
