Viral disease:

  1. A viral disease is any illness or health condition caused by a virus.
  2. Example: AIDS, measles, rubella, smallpox, chikungunya.

Bacterial disease:

  1. Bacterial diseases are diseases caused by bacteria.
  2. The bacteria that cause diseases in humans are called “harmful bacteria”.
  3. Example: cholera, tuberculosis, pneumonia, botulism, anthrax, tetanus.

Diseases spread through insects:

  1. Diseases caused by insects ( mosquitoes, lice, fleas, bed bugs) and ticks can transmit a number of diseases caused by infectious agents.
  2. Examples: Malaria, plague, filariasis, chikungunya.

Hereditary diseases:

  1. A hereditary disease is described as something that runs in the family.
  2. It passes down from one or both parents to their children, who will then pass it to their children.
  3. Examples are Diabetes, sickle-cell anaemia, colour blindness, haemophilia, and thalassemia.
