Solution

Find the gain percent.

Given: The cost price of the saree is 89th MRP.

Let the MRP be x.

Then cost price of the saree is 89x.

The amount will neighbor pay for the saree is x+0.09x=1.09x

The formula for Selling Price.

SP=100+Gain%100×CP1.09x=100+Gain%100×89x1.09=100+Gain%100×891.09×900=(100+Gain%)×8981=800+8Gain%981-800=8Gain%181=8Gain%1818=Gain%8=Gain%

Hence gain % is 8.
