Mention Any Two Advantages Of Eddy Currents In Practical Applications-

Open in App
Solution

Eddy Currents
Eddy currents are currents induced in a conductor due to a change in magnetic field.
The Two advantages of eddy currents in practical applications:

  1. Surface defect Sensitivity i.e. Under favorable conditions, defects as short as 0.5 mm can be detected.
  2. Can be detected through multiple surfaces. The ability to detect defects in several surface structures without interference from planar interfaces.

Hence, the two advantages of eddy currents in practical applications are Surface defect Sensitivity and Can be detected through multiple surfaces.
