Step 1: Follow the following steps to multiply two binomials.

  • Apply distributive law of multiplication.
  • Multiply every term of one binomial with every term in the other binomial.
  • Look for like terms, if any, and combine them.

Step 2: Multiply (2.5l-0.5m) and(2.5l+0.5m).

2.5l-0.5m×2.5l+0.5m=2.5l2.5l+0.5m-0.5m2.5l+0.5m=6.25l2+1.25lm-1.25lm-0.25m2=6.25l2-0.25m2

Hence the product of (2.5l-0.5m) and(2.5l+0.5m) is 6.25l2-0.25m2.
