Right to Freedom of Religion

  • Every citizen has the right to propagate, practice or profess the religion of his or her choice.
  • The right to religion does not give rights to convert a person into his religion through allurement, inducement, fraud, or by force.

Right to Freedom

  • The Constitution gives the freedom to its citizens to carry out any business, trade, occupation or practice any profession.
  • Anyone has the freedom to move to any part of the country.
  • Any citizen can live in any part of the country.
  • People have the right to form associations.

Right to Equality

  • As per constitution the practice of untouchability is forbidden.
  • The Government is directed by the Constitution to put an end to the practice of untouchability.
  • As per the Constitution, the practice of untouchability is a punishable offence.
  • Each and every citizen will be given equal protection under the laws of the land.
  • The foundation of democracy is the rule of law.
  • Irrespective of the status of the person, laws are applicable in the same manner to everyone.
  • Laws are the same for ordinary citizens, government official, or political leaders.

Right Against Exploitation

  • Child labour is prohibited by our constitution.
  • Children below the age of fourteen cannot be employed in ports, railways, mines or any other place of hazardous work.
  • Trafficking of human beings is prohibited by the Constitution. Buying or Selling human beings, especially women for immoral activities is the meaning of trafficking.
  • Begar in any form or forced labour is also prohibited by our Constitution.
  • Begar is a practice where a person has to give his services for free to his master, or for very minimum remuneration.
  • When the above mentioned practice goes on for the person’s entire life, then it is known as bonded labour.
