It is known as a displacement reaction in which an element displaces another element in a compound i.e the hydrogen in acids is displaced by the metals to produce hydrogen gas.
Impure Hydrogen gas which basically contains traces of oxygen, nitrogen, and water vapor burns with a pop sound as it is highly combustible nature of hydrogen.
When, a spark is introduced to impure Hydrogen gas, a highly exothermic reaction occurs.
Due to this a sudden temperature rise happens,and the gases expand on heating, which generally occurs very fast, in milliseconds.
This sudden expansion of these hot gases, causes a compression on the surrounding gases, producing a sound wave, that we hear as a pop sound.
