  3. Thermal power plants also generate non-biodegradable wastes such as fly ash.

Fly ash:

  2. Fly ash shows pozzolanic properties.
  3. It forms cementitious compounds by reacting with lime.
  4. It is otherwise called a supplementary cementitious material.
  5. It consists of silicon dioxide, aluminium oxide, and calcium oxide.
