  2. It is an aortic valve that has two flaps or cusps.

Significance of bicuspid valve:

  1. The bicuspid valve prevents the backflow of blood from the ventricle back to the atrium during ventricular contraction.
  2. It closes during the ventricular contraction and directs the blood to flow to the aorta.
