Name the valve between left atrium and left ventricle and give its significance

The valve present between the left atrium and left ventricle is the Bicuspid valve. This is also known as Mitral valve. During ventricular contraction, the bicuspid valve prevents backflow of blood from left ventricle to left atrium.
