Rita goes 20km towards east from point A to point B. She moves 30km towards the west from B along the same road. If the distance toward the east is represented by a positive integer then, how will you describe the distance traveled toward the west? By which integer will you represent her final position from A?

From the given details we get to know that

A positive integer denotes the distance towards the east

The distance traveled towards the west will be denoted by a negative integer.

Distance travelled in east direction =20km

Distance travelled in west direction=30km

Distance travelled from A =20+(30)=10km

Therefore,

We will denote the distance traveled by Rita from point A by a negative integer, i.e., -10km . Rita is now in the west direction.

Hence, -10 represent her final position from A
