Solve the following pairs of equations by reducing them to a pair of linear equations:

Step 1: Reduce the pair of equations into pairs of linear equations

Let us assume that

1x=m and 1y=n ,

The equations can be rewritten as

m2+n3=23m+2n6=23m+2n-12=0.(1)m3+n2=1362m+3n6=1362m+3n-13=0.(2)

Step 2: Use cross multiplication method

By cross-multiplication method, we get,

m(-26-(-36)=n(-24-(-39))=1(9-4)m10=n15=15

therefore,

m10=15m=2and,n15=15n=3

So,

1x=2x=12and,1y=3y=13

Hence, x=12 and y=13 are the solution of given pair of equation.
