Question

State division algorithm for polynomials.

Open in App
Solution

The division of polynomials is similar to the division of numbers.

The division algorithm for polynomials states that if f(x) and g(x) are polynomials, where g(x) is not equal to 0. Then it can be written as:

f(x)=q(x)×g(x)+r(x)

This is the same as the Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder

Where r(x) is the remainder polynomial and is equal to 0 and degree r(x)<degreeofg(x).
