The division of polynomials is similar to the division of numbers.

The division algorithm for polynomials states that if $f\left(x\right)$ and $g\left(x\right)$ are polynomials, where $g\left(x\right)$ is not equal to $0$. Then it can be written as:

$f\left(x\right)=q\left(x\right)\times g\left(x\right)+r\left(x\right)$

This is the same as the Dividend $=$ Divisor $\times$ Quotient $+$ Remainder

Where $r\left(x\right)$ is the remainder polynomial and is equal to $0$ and degree $r\left(x\right)<degreeofg\left(x\right)$.
