Solution
Henry's Law
It states that at constant temperature the amount of a given gas that dissolves in a given type and volume of a liquid is directly proportional to the partial pressure of that gas in equilibrium with that liquid.
The mathematical formula: where C= concentration of the solute, p= partial pressure of the solute in the gas above the solution, K H = Henry's law constant.
The higher the value of Henry's law constant KH at a given pressure, the lower the solubility of a gas in the liquid.
Henry's law constantly plays an important role in atmospheric chemistry, environmental chemistry and wastewater treatment plants.
Therefore, Henry's law determines the relation between concentration and the partial pressure of the gas.
