Option (a) Resistance
Resistance is the property of a conductor to resist the flow of current through it. Its S.I. unit is the ohm, represented by the Greek letter Ω (omega).
- The higher the resistance, the lower the current flow. If abnormally high, one possible cause (among many) could be damaged conductors due to burning or corrosion.
- Materials that offer very little resistance where electrons can move easily are conductors. In contrast, Materials that present high resistance and restrict electrons’ flow like rubber, paper, glass etc., are insulators.
