Solution

Difference between AC and DC

Alternating CurrentDirect Current
1. An alternating current (AC) is a flow of electrical current that changes its direction periodically. 1. Direct current (DC) is an electrical current that flows consistently in one direction.
2. AC is safe to transfer longer distances even between two cities and maintain electric power.2. DC cannot travel for a very long distance. It loses electric power.
3. The rotating magnets cause a change in direction of electric flow.3. The steady magnetism makes DC flow in a single direction.
4. The frequency of AC is depended upon the country. But, generally, the frequency is 50 Hz or 60 Hz.4. DC has no frequency of zero frequency.
5. In AC the flow of current changes its direction backward periodically.5. It flows in a single direction steadily.
6. In AC current, the average value and RMS value of current are different.6. In DC current, average and RMS value of current are the same.
