Solution

Finding the length of the other parallel side of the trapezium.

Let a trapezium ABCD such that ADBCand AB is the height.

Length of one parallel side, BC=10cm

height, AB=4cmand

Area of a trapezium is 34cm2

We know that,

Area of trapezium =12×sumofparallelsides×height

Area=12×AD+BC×AB34=12×AD+10×434=AD+10×234=2AD+2034-20=2AD2AD=14AD=142=7cm

Hence, another required parallel side is 7cm
