Solution

The correct option is B

Bar magnet

  1. A bar magnet is a rectangular-shaped object that has permanent magnetic properties and is made from ferromagnetic substances.
  2. It has a north pole and a south pole.
  3. Like(north and north or south and south) poles of a magnet repel each other whereas unlike(north and south) poles attract.

Explanation

  1. Bar magnets are stored with opposite poles facing the same side by keeping a wooden block between them and soft iron plates on both sides.
  2. Bar magnets get demagnetized when the poles are left free for a long time, so they are stored like this.
  3. The soft iron keepers placed across the poles of the magnet complete the circuit and thus help to preserve the strength of the bar magnet.

Therefore option B is correct.
