Our country has become increasingly dependent on fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas due to the growing consumption of energy. India has been blessed with an abundance of sunlight, wind, water, and biomass, and it has larger plans for the development of these renewable energy resources. India is a tropical country and thus it has enormous possibilities of tapping solar energy.
- Photovoltaic technology converts sunlight directly into electricity. It is also becoming popular in rural and remote areas.
- In many parts of our country, big solar power plants are being established, this will ensure that dependence of rural households on firewood and dung cakes is minimized, which in turn will contribute to an adequate supply of manure in agriculture and environment conservation too.
