Varactor diode:

  1. A varactor diode is a kind of diode wherein internal capacitance fluctuates with regard to the reversing voltage.
  2. It is indeed a voltage-dependent semiconductor technology that always functions in reverse bias. Varicap, Voltcap, Voltage changeable capacitance, or Tunning diode are all names for a varactor diode.
  3. The varactor diode's job is to accumulate charges, hence it is constantly maintained in reverse bias. Whenever a forward bias voltage is provided, electric current passes, causing the depletion area to shrink, which would be unfavorable.
