Solution

Find the probability that the flower chosen is pink :

  1. Probability is a measure of the likelihood of an event to occur.
  2. The probability of all the events in a sample space adds up to 1.

Bag A

Number of Red flowers in Bag A is 6

Pink flowers in Bag A is 3

Bag B

Number of Red flowers in Bag B is 2

Number of Pink flowers in Bag B is 7

Total flowers in both bags is 6+3+2+7=18

Total number of pink flowers is 3+7=10

The probability that the flower chosen is pink :

P(Pink)=No.ofpinkflowersTotalno.offlowers=108=54

Hence, The probability that the flower chosen is pink is 54.
