a is the acceleration.

Explanation:

Whenever a batsman knocks a six, the speed with which the ball reaches the boundary is determined by the amount of power with which he smacks the ball. This same direction in which the ball crosses the boundary, however, is determined by the direction wherein the batsman performs the shot.
