Solution
When we place two different types of lenses on a newspaper, we can identify the lenses by looking at the size of the image produced by the lenses.
If the image produced by a lens is larger than the actual size of the text of the newspaper then it is a convex lens, as convex lenses produced a magnified image.
And if the image produced by a lens is smaller than the actual size of the text of the newspaper then it is a concave lens, as a concave lens produces a diminished image.
