Question

Verify whether the following are zeroes of the polynomial, indicated against them: p(x)=lx+m,x=-ml

Open in App
Solution

We have, p(x)=lx+m,x=-ml

If the given value of x is the zero of the given polynomial, then on substituting the value of x in the given polynomial then value of polynomial becomes zero.

So, put the value of x=-ml in p(x)=lx+m

p-ml=l-ml+mp-ml=m+mp-ml=0

Hence, x=-ml is a zero of the polynomial p(x)=lx+m.
