Water flows through a cylindrical pipe whose inner radius is 1cm, at the rate of 80cm/s in an empty cylindrical tank, the radius of whose base is 40cm. What is the rise of water level in tank in half an hour?

We have,

Radius of tank, r1=40cm

Also, the internal radius of cylindrical pipe,r2=1cm

Speed of water =80cm/s that means in 1second water flow =80cm

Therefore,

In30minuteswaterflow=80x60x30=144000cm

As per the question,

Volumeofwaterincylindricaltank=Volumeofwaterflowfromthecircularpipeinhalfanhourπr21h1=πr22h2Onsubstituting,weget,π×40×40×h1=π×1×1×144000h1=14400040×40h1=144016h1=90cm

Therefore, in cylindrical tank, the level of water rises 90cm in half an hour.
