Solution

Pythagorean triplet

Definition:

Pythagorean triplets are represented as a,b,c such that a2+b2=c2, where a,b and c are positive integers.

Here a is the perpendicular, b is the base and c is the hypotenuse of the right angled triangle.

Example:

Consider 5,12,13

Where,

a=5b=12c=13

Put a=5,b=12andc=13 in a2+b2=c2:

LHS=a2+b2=52+122=25+144=169=132=c2=RHS

Thus,5,12,13 satisfies a2+b2=c2

Hence, Pythagorean triplets a,b,c are sides of a right-angle triangle such that a2+b2=c2, where a,b and c are positive integers and are perpendicular, base and hypotenuse respectively.
