Spherical mirrors:

  1. A spherical mirror is a mirror whose reflecting surface is part of a hollow sphere of glass.
  2. A mirror with a reflecting surface that seems to be the portion of a hollow glass sphere is called a spherical mirror.

Types of spherical mirrors:

  1. Concave mirrors - Concave mirrors are popular among shaving reflectors, surgeons (tooth), and perhaps even observatories. This same enlarged reflected picture has restricted peripheral vision. Example: The inwards curved surface of a spoon.
  2. Convex mirrors - Convex mirrors have sometimes been known as fisheye lens mirrors as well as diverging mirrors. They are often utilized throughout automobile mirrors. Example: The outwards bulged surface of a spoon.
