Solution

Water energy:

  1. Water energy is the energy derived from falling water or fast running water to generate electricity or to power machines.
  2. Water-based renewable technologies have been available for thousands of years throughout the manner of water clocks as well as waterwheels.

Types of water energy:

Different types of water energy are given as follows:

  1. Geothermal energy: The water is boiled from within the Earth to produce water vapor. There are instances when steam spontaneously rises to the surface and is used to generate electricity.
  2. Hydro-power: Running water falls from a distance on the turbines, generating electricity. Water is held in reservoirs with potential energy before being discharged at a lower height. This energy is utilized in the production of electricity.
  3. Tidal energy: The tides formed in the ocean provide tidal energy. Tidal power uses turbines to harness the energy of flowing tides as they rush in and out of coastal locations and is also one of the renewable sources of energy.
