Water can exist in three forms of matter i.e solid, liquid, and gas.

Solid:

• The solid form of water is ice.
• It can be formed by freezing the liquid.
• The molecules of a solid are tightly packed due to which ice is less dense than water.

Liquid:

• The liquid state of water can be formed by melting the solid.
• The intermolecular attractions in liquids are weaker than that of solids.

Gas:

• The gaseous form of water is water vapor.
• It can be formed by boiling the liquid at high temperatures.
