The three components of biodiversity:

i) Ecosystem diversity:

  2. Examples are the desert, mangroves, etc.

ii) Species diversity:

  1. The number of distinct species found at a place is the most common degree of diversity.
  2. Examples are humans.

iii) Genetic diversity:

  1. It signifies the diversity possessed by a single species at the genetic level.
