Solution

Fixation:

The position where the filament is linked to the anther is referred to as fixation.

The following are the four modes of filament attachments to the anther:

1. Adnate fixation:

  • In this type, the filament takes the entire length of the anther.
  • Ranunculus, Magnolia, and Buttercup are just a few examples.

2. Basifixed fixation:

  • The filament is attached to the base of the anther in this variety, which is why it's called basifixed.
  • Mustard, cotton, and Radish are some of the examples.

3. Dorsifixed fixation:

  • Here the filament is attached to the dorsal side of the anther.
  • Sesbania, Passiflora, and Citrus are some examples.

4. Versatile fixation:

  • The filament is scarcely linked to the anther in this form, allowing the anther to swing freely.
  • Grasses are one of the common examples.
