Ways to harness nuclear energy:

There are two ways to harness nuclear energy, such as:

Nuclear fission:

  1. When the nucleus of an atom splits into lighter nuclei through a nuclear reaction the process is termed nuclear fission.
  2. The amount of energy produced is huge.
  3. Uranium is the primary fuel that is used in power plants.

Nuclear fusion:

  1. A process of combining small atoms, resulting in heavier atoms with more energy is termed nuclear fusion.
  2. The amount of energy produced is relatively huge.
  3. Hydrogen isotopes are the primary fuel that is used in power plants.
