Solid form of Water:

  • Water exists in all three forms of matter i.e. solid, liquid, and gas.
  • The solid form of water is ice.
  • Ice is less dense than water as when water freezes, its molecules move farther apart.
  • The intermolecular forces in a solid are stronger than that of liquids.
  • At low temperatures (below0°C), it is solid. At “normal” temperatures (between0°Cand100°C), water exists as a liquid.
  • At high temperatures, water is a gas (steam).
