Solution

The reproductive system of a frog:

  1. They are the organisms coming under the order Anura.
  2. In frogs, the reproductive compositions are found distinctly in females and males.
  3. In male frogs, the reproductive system comprises a pair of the testis, urogenital ducts, vasa efferentia, and cloaca.
  4. The sperms or the male gametes are produced in the testis.
  5. They are mediated by the urinogenital ducts and vasa efferentia in the form of semen and are further discharged by the opening known as the cloaca.
  6. The female reproductive system comprises oviducts and a pair of ovaries.
  7. The female gametes are produced in the ovary.
  8. They are then carried with the help of oviducts and discharged out through the opening cloaca.
  9. The male and female frogs get into a mating position known as amplexus at the time of reproduction.
  10. This position makes sure that the sperm encounters the eggs.
  11. The female and male frogs discharge their gametes in the water body where the process of fertilization takes place.
  12. The mass of the egg is produced due to the fusion of gametes that later hatch into a tadpole.
  13. The phenomenon of metamorphosis takes place, which results in the generation of an adult frog.

The similarities between frogs and the human reproductive system:

  1. They both are sexually dimorphic.
  2. They both possess different organs for the generation of gametes.
  3. They both are unisexual.
  4. They both possess oviducts and vasa efferentia for the transportation of gametes.
  5. They both generate female gametes in the ovaries and male gametes in the testis.
