Disease:

A disease is a specific aberrant condition that adversely affects the structure or function of all or part of an organism and is not caused by external harm.

Types of diseases:

Acute disease:

  1. Acute diseases develop quickly and are accompanied by unique symptoms that necessitate immediate or short-term treatment and improve once treated.
  2. For instance, a common cold.

Chronic disease:

  1. It is an illness or ailment that typically lasts three months or more and may worsen with time.
  2. For example, cancer, heart disease, and so on.

Infectious diseases :

  1. Infectious diseases are those that transfer from person to person.
  2. Example: Tuberculosis, influenza

Non-infectious diseases:

  1. Non-infectious diseases do not spread to others and are contained within the individual who has contracted them.
  2. Cancer is an example.
