Solution

Quadratic equation formula.

The Standard Form of a quadratic equation is ax2+bx+c=0,a0. where aandbis the coefficient of variables and c is any constant. Moreovera,b,c.
The quadratic equation formula is used to solve the quadratic equation which cannot be solved by the factorization method.

The quadratic formula is:

x=-b±b2-4ac2a

Here, D=b2-4ac is the discriminant

  • If D>0 then the roots of the quadratic equation are distinct and real.
  • If D<0 then roots of the quadratic equation are distinct and non-real.
  • If D=0 then the roots of the quadratic equation are equal and real.

Thus, the quadratic formula isx=-b±b2-4ac2a.
