Compound ratio and its example:

A compound ratio is obtained by multiplying two or more ratios term-wise. For example, if the two ratios are m:n and x:y then

mx:ny is the compound ratio.

Example of a compound ratio :

For ratios 3:7 and 2:5.

, m=3,n=7,x=2,and y=5

Therefore, the compound ratio is

3×2:7×5=6:35

Thus, the compound ratio is obtained by multiplying two or more ratios term-wise.
